The commas may be filled black or coloured in . Notice that, by starting at the centre crossover as just described the result is usually lop-sided, higher on the right than on the left. This is quite proper, and the assymmetry appreciated as a positive thing, the next stage is to enclose the ornament, and shade or fill in the background.
