The cover design is by Susan Yee. The nine circular knots are variations on the central knot, which is a traditional roundel. Susan has created variations on the basic knot pattern by changing the cross break pattern in the background. By removing one or two arms of the cross, to form a T-break, or an L-break, the result is a different pattern of knot.
